Team Israel is crushing it in the World Baseball Classic.

The team of Jewish Americans representing Israel on the diamond was never expected to chalk up even one win. But Team Israel – the Cinderella of the tournament — is 4-0, so far.

The players in blue-and-white uniforms stunned Cuba 4-1 in the first WBC quarterfinal game at the Tokyo Dome.

That means, the 41st ranked Team Israel has now beaten Cuba (No. 5 world ranking), South Korea (No. 3 world ranking), Taiwan (No. 4 world ranking) and the Netherlands (No. 9 world ranking).

The win over Cuba sets Team Israel up with a good chance to be one of the two teams that will eventually advance out of Pool E. The team’s next game is another match-up with the Netherlands.

The World Baseball Classic runs through March 22.
