On March 19, Israelis came out onto their balconies and and to their windows to clap for two minutes in a nationwide show of appreciation for the “medical frontliners” working so hard in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Similar initiatives have been taking place in other countries to show appreciation to nurses, doctors, first-responders and other healthcare personnel during the coronavirus crisis.
