Ben-Gurion University of the Negev has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote a collaborative research and teaching agreement with the newly-established Botswana International University of Science and Technology. The agreement was signed between BGU President Prof. Rivka Carmi and acting-President of BIUST Professor Steven Howell during a recent visit to BGU.
This past summer a delegation from BGU was invited by the government of Botswana to explore the potential for cooperation in areas such as technology and desert studies and asked for assistance in the launch of the new university.
“BGU is proud to be able to help create this new university that will have a long-term impact on Botswana’s development and also make a difference for all the countries in the region,” said Prof. Carmi at the signing.
